Return to Learn to Sail

West Vancouver Yacht Club has one of the highest quality Junior Training Programs in the country. We incorporate the Canadian Yachting Association's "Learn to Sail" standards into our own unique training programs, enabling us to offer the most memorable, educational, and rewarding experiences possible.

There are many courses to choose from, each suited to a particular age and skill level. Even students as young as 4 years old can learn to sail! At WVYC, we introduce basic sailing skills, develop existing skills and improve racing performance for youth sailors in both a safe and fun environment. Students can progress through the levels at a comfortable pace while having one of the most exciting summers camps of their lives.

Spring season

• Wet Feet (ages 4-6)
• High School Sailing
• North Shore Sailing Team

Summer season

• Wet Feet (ages 4-6)
• Optimist Classes (ages 7 - 10)
• White Sail (ages 11- 17)
• Bronze Sail (Pre-requisite White Sail III)
• Silver Sail (Pre-requisite Bronze Sail V)
• Youth Keelboat (Pre-requisite White Sail II) *New for 2009*
• Commodore's Cup
