Objectives
- To is to give qualified
WVYC members access to the Club J-22 adult sailing vessels.
- To ensure that the vessels
are always properly maintained by those users and that the Adult
Learn to Sail program does not suffer any down time as a result
of said use.
Qualifications for
use
- All those members wishing
to use the J-22s must become a member of the J-22 club
- That the member/helmsperson
be a member of the WVYC.
- That the member /helmsperson
carry a valid PCOC card and demonstrate that they
are a qualified sailor and yachtsman. This may be through common
knowledge or by proof of CYA or equivalent courses completed.
In the case of common knowledge a letter of reference from another
WVYC member is required.
- That the member/helmsperson
observe all Canadian Coast Guard regulations and ensure that the
vessel and crew meet those regulations prior to leaving the dock.
Resultant fines from the CCG are the responsibility of the member/helmsperson.
Club Fees
- Annual membership fee
$100.00
- Race series rental fee
$ 25.00/month
- Fees will be charged to
the member's account. All fees subject to GST.
- Please contact
the Club office to join
Usage
- Vessels may be used only
outside of regularly scheduled Adult Sailing program.
- Single handed sailing
is not permitted.
- If weather or other conditions
force a schedule change to the Adult Sailing program, member reservations
may be cancelled.
- Boats must be back in
port one hour prior to sunset.
- Geographic boundaries.
Boats to be used only in Howe Sound Waters between the east shore
of Bowen Island and the West Vancouver shore between Point Atkinson
and Whytecliff Park.
- Day trips only. Overnights
at the discretion of the Sailing Director or General Manager only.
Reservations /
Check in - Check out
- J-22 Club members are
required to book ahead of time through the Sailing Director who
is the only person permitted to schedule the use of these vessels.
Please remember that the Sailing Director works a varied schedule
and may not always be available. BOOK AHEAD PLEASE. It
will not be possible to book on a last minute basis.
- Check in and check out
procedures must be observed. Please contact the Weekend Boatswain
who is on the property, through the front desk. All damage and
lost equipment must be reported to the Sailing Director or the
General manager.
- Only one booking allowed
at a time, no more than one week in advance. First booking takes
precedence.
- Juniors are encouraged
to join the J 22 Club and their use would be governed by the same
fees, rules, privileges and booking procedures as other J 22 Club
members .
Shipshape
- Members must wash and
clean the vessel after each use (please bring your own soap and
bucket) and must also remove all personal paraphernalia that may
be on board.
