As of September 15, 2002 the new boating regulations now state "Any persons operating a powerboat under 4 meters (13.2 feet) must have an Operator's Card; this includes personal water craft. Also, anyone born after April 1, 1983 must have proof of competency."
The West Vancouver Yacht Club regularly
organizes P.C.O.C. education and testing sessions for its members.
The P.C.O.C. card is a required item should you wish to operate
a recreational vessel in Canadian Waters.
The P.C.O.C program now
has an effective online based program. Therefore any non-member
or member needing the program please contact the sailing director
directly. He will assist you with the set up to start you on your
way with a positive boating experience.
For more information on our Pleasure Craft Operator Card program,
please contact our Sailing
Director.
