The Adult Dinghy Sailing Program at the West Vancouver Yacht Club caters to the beginner who wants to experience the excitement of being on the water, and to the advanced sailor who would like to get back out into the highly responsive world of dinghy sailing. This is a great way to take advantage of the club’s new 420 fleet.

Learn to Sail Level One
If you are a beginner who
would like to be introduced to the sport of sailing in a positive
and warm environment, this is the course for you. By the end of
this course, you should be able to rig and de-rig your boat, confidently
leave and return to the dock, and perform simple steering and sail
adjustments.
Successful
candidates will receive Canadian Yachting Association certification.
Each session runs for three weeks on Tuesday and Thursday evenings
from 5:30pm-8:30pm.

Learn to Sail Level Two
If you have completed Adult Dinghy Level One or have some prior sailing experience you may be a great candidate for Adult Dinghy Level Two. The goal for this course is for the students to be able to sail with confidence on every point of sail and to achieve their CYA White Sail Three Level. Graduates of this course should be able to sail on their own with confidence.
This course also runs for three weeks on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30pm-8:30pm.
