Yacht Racing at WVYC

WVYC is home to the most active and competitive racing program in Metro Vancouver. Club races are held throughout the year, from no-flying sails right up to some of the most competitive racing in western Canada. The highlights of the racing year are the Southern Straits Classic, the national one design regatta and the Pumpkin Bowl Regatta. These signature events attract competition from all around the Pacific northwest.

Competitors relish the fact that WVYC is located in an ideal racing environment. If there is wind anywhere, it’s here - it's very rare for a race to be cancelled due to lack of wind.

Race administration is held to high standards. Our Race committee is led by experts and made possible by trained volunteers. Moreover, if you want to improve your own racing skills, WVYC offers regular opportunities for hands-on competition, race-committee volunteering, knowledge-sharing talks, and Safety at Sea courses for distance and offshore racing.
