CANSail 4-5, Bronze V-Silver VI

Advanced theory, sail trim and boat handling are the cornerstones of CANSail 4 and 5. A greater emphasis is placed on linear boat speed as well as maintenance of speed though transitions. Racing development increases and sailors are introduced to the use of spinnakers and trapeze. CANSail 5 includes CYA's Chutes and Wires 1.

Two progressive levels provide sailors with advanced sailing skill development and racing skills acquisition in the CANSail model:

CANSail 4 - Bronze V

Skills previously reserved for high performance programs such as CYA Silver and Gold are now fully integrated into a fun and development-based CANSail 4 curriculum. Advanced and racing-oriented sail tuning, tactics and mental skills help sailors acheive performance and personal goals in a team atmosphere. Sailors consolidate their skillsets in the Club 420 class dinghy.
