 A quick note of thanks for a really great night Friday evening. As I probably said several times too often that night, the food itself was amazing, the best ever offered at a family night. But what makes it for us is the warm welcome from you as a host, and your genuine, gracious presence through the evening, ensuring a successful night for each of us and our children. Each of the staff working was so friendly (as always) but I kind of started to believe that they were having more fun than normal - it need not be true, but that they managed to convey the possibility is pretty great. A Very Happy Testimonial for the West Vancouver Yacht Club and in particular John Quirk, venue manager.
Our daughter Christie Potzold and her Fiancee Sean Graham were married and had their wedding reception at the Yacht Centre and Reception Dinning Room on July 16, 2011. From our first encounter with John, we found him not only professional but very knowledgeable and kind with his information and answers to our questions. At no time did we ever feel he was trying to up sell us. In fact he was right on in many of his suggestions for things like "What do we do about appetizers and toasts following the wedding ceremony." Although the weather did not co-operate the open concept to the Yacht Centre made it feel just like "SuperNatural British Columbia". The set-up and the staff were perfect for us. We were able to do some decorating of the reception hall the night before the wedding, and John's staff had the tables, our flowers and other amenities ready to perfection. "Neptune's Dinner Buffet", the dessert table, a little late night snack were scrumptious - the quality, quantity and presentation would rival the best. We were indeed pleased.
Throughout our wedding John was there - from the first secluding of the bride, to conferring about last minute weather changes, to overseeing the dinner and occasionally checking in with the mother of the bride (if only by eye contact on occasion), to topping up the bride's wine glass, John's quiet but very 'on top of it' presence was most comforting. This was our first wedding and it certainly was the best we have encountered, we were very happy for the great part the WVYC and most definitely John Quirk played in making it absolutely fantastic. It was the storybook wedding of our dreams.

Hi there,
I just want to say that the party we had at WVYC on July 21st was fantastic! Thanks to you and your team for making the bridal shower so special. The venue was perfect and the meal was out of this world. I am very grateful for your professional integrity; you were available to accommodate every request and the respect and gracious nature of your staff made every interaction a pleasure. Zack Yerxa, our dj, had a very positive experience with the space used for spinning and the dancing was too much fun!
I look forward to the next opportunity I have to use the club in the future and I would highly recommend others to take advantage of all you have to offer.
Thank you again very much for facilitating a wonderful and memorable evening for us all.

Aloha from Hawaii John!!
We have now been officially married for 6 days and our minds are just starting to return to normal!! We had such an amazing evening at our reception!!! You and the West Vancouver Yacht club team were spectacular! You and your team were always anticipating our needs and our guests needs even before we thought of them ourselves, everyone was cheerful, energetic and extremely helpful and the FOOD- WOW!! It was absolutely fabulous, we are still getting emails from friends and family saying it was the best they have ever had at a wedding, not to mention that the entire reception was the best they had ever been to!!
Thank you soooo MUCH for all your care and detail that went into our dreamy evening.

Our evening was an amazing success, the best ever, even with the rain. You were all so helpful and gracious. Food was wonderful, I am not sure if I ever ate!! And am exhausted right now. We already are getting wonderful thankyous and appreciation.

John. We are greatly pleased by our birthday breakfast at the Club last Saturday. Our many guests were impressed by the setting and the marvellous view. The service was efficient and responsive, and the buffet breakfast was excellent. We will be looking forward to booking our annual Christmas breakfast. Thank you.
